Ministry of Health, appointed Bullivant Arabia Ltd. to rehabilitate
the 6 concrete columns in the kitchen area of the Sahara Hospital,
damaged due to reinforcement corrosion.
The rehabilitation works required a detailed study of the prevailing
situation, perform load calculations, design support systems, design
new column sections and come up with detailed method statements for
each activity on the site to be performed.
The Site Activities for this project included but not limited to.

Protection of kitchen equipments, walls and floors
**
Preliminary inspection of beam locations for designing the support
system
**
Exposure of footings
**
Installation of Support system for the beams and columns with great
care.
**
Monitoring the movements in the support system using dial gauges
**
Chipping around the columns
**
Fixing new steel around the columns
**
Shotcreting using a proper and effective design mix of grout.
**
Waterproofing the Footing top and Column below Ground level
**
Backfilling and Compaction
**
Re-fixing the electric, water, drainage and gas line (if damaged)
**
Concrete floor slab- with proper connection to existing slab and
sump pits
**
Floor tiles/Marble Fixing
**
Painting the columns and repair areas.
